Legal & Privacy
Last updated June 19, 2026. Plain English, on purpose. FestDNA is free, it doesn’t sell tickets or take payments, and everything it shows about a festival is an estimate — always verify on the official source before you book.
Terms of Use & Disclaimer
Welcome to FestDNA. These Terms are a plain-English agreement between you and Your Mind Your World LLC (“YMYW,” “FestDNA,” “we,” “us”). By using festdna.com you agree to them, along with our Privacy Policy and Affiliate Disclosure below. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.
1. You must be 18+
FestDNA is intended for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to use it. The product involves festivals, nightlife, travel, ticketing, and affiliate booking links, so it isn’t meant for children.
2. What FestDNA is
FestDNA is a free web app. You complete a short DNA Match (about 60 seconds) — telling us your music taste, favorite DJs, budget, home city, travel range, available dates, vibe, and accommodation preferences — and we recommend electronic-music festivals worldwide and help you estimate trip-planning details — things like festival dates, costs, flights, hotels, ticket links, and what to pack.
FestDNA does not sell tickets, does not process bookings, and does not process payments. Every booking, purchase, refund, cancellation, and customer-service issue is handled by third-party websites, not by us.
3. Festival info is an estimate — always verify it
We pull festival information from public and third-party sources — lineups, headliners, dates, ticket prices, venue and camping policies, age restrictions, and travel and hotel estimates. This information changes constantly. Treat everything on FestDNA as an estimate, and verify it on the official source before you rely on it.
In particular, confirm details directly with official sources before you:
- buy tickets
- book travel or hotels
- request time off work
- make any plans around a festival
- rely on venue, camping, entry, or age policies
- rely on lineup or date information
We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, availability, or timeliness of any festival information.
4. Third-party services and links
FestDNA links out to third-party services to help you plan and book — for example Google Flights, Aviasales / Travelpayouts, Booking.com, official festival ticket websites, Amazon, and other travel, ticketing, hotel, and gear providers. Some of these are affiliate links (see the Affiliate Disclosure below).
We are not responsible for anything that happens on or because of a third-party service, including their prices, availability, cancellations, refunds, policies, errors, sold-out events, changed dates or lineups, schedule changes, travel disruptions, lost money, denied entry, hotel issues, flight delays, or ticketing problems.
5. Travel is your responsibility
FestDNA offers estimates and planning suggestions only. It is not travel, legal, financial, medical, safety, visa, or insurance advice. You are responsible for your own:
- passports, visas, and entry requirements
- vaccinations and health requirements
- travel insurance
- transportation and lodging
- local laws, customs rules, and personal safety
- festival rules, age restrictions, and venue policies
- emergency planning
Always verify travel requirements through official government, airline, hotel, ticketing, and festival sources.
6. “As is” — no warranties
FestDNA is provided free of charge, “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that recommendations will be accurate, that festival data will be current, that prices or tickets will be available, that third-party websites will work, that lineups will stay the same, that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that you will enjoy a recommended festival.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, FestDNA and YMYW are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost travel or ticket costs, missed events, cancelled trips, third-party mistakes, changed dates or lineups, inaccurate prices, sold-out tickets, booking problems, or travel disruptions.
To the extent we are ever found liable, our total liability will not exceed the greater of $100 or the amount you paid FestDNA in the 12 months before the claim. FestDNA is currently free, so in most cases that amount is $0.
8. Our intellectual property
The FestDNA and RAVEDNA names, the DNA-wave logo, and the site design, DNA Match content, recommendation logic, scoring system, text, graphics, software, and database are owned by YMYW and protected by intellectual-property laws. FESTDNA and related names, logos, and marks are trademarks or pending trademarks of YMYW.
You may use the site for personal, non-commercial purposes only. You may not copy or scrape the site, reverse-engineer the recommendation or scoring system, use automated bots, resell our data, misuse our trademarks, or reproduce the DNA Match or database without our permission.
@handles: your handle must not impersonate another person, artist, festival, brand, or trademark, or mislead others about who you are. Handles that do — including handles matching well-known brands or marks — may be suspended, reclaimed, or reassigned at our discretion. If you are a rights-holder and want the handle matching your mark, email privacy@festdna.com.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be handled exclusively in the state or federal courts located in the State of Florida, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
10. Changes and contact
We may update these Terms from time to time; the “Last updated” date shows the latest version, and continued use means you accept the changes. Questions? Email privacy@festdna.com.
Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what FestDNA (operated by Your Mind Your World LLC, a Florida limited liability company) collects, why, and the choices you have. Questions or requests: privacy@festdna.com.
Who this is for
FestDNA is intended for people 18 and older. It is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
What we collect
By default, FestDNA collects anonymous, first-party analytics. That can include:
- a random session ID stored in your browser’s localStorage
- your Match answers — genres, DJs, budget range, home city / travel origin, travel range, available dates, vibe, and accommodation preferences
- approximate location from your IP address, and — only if you tap “Use my location” — your device’s location: used during your visit to measure distance to festivals and find your nearest airport. Your precise coordinates stay in your browser; we don’t store them on our servers or sell them. If you sign in, only an approximate location (rounded to about a kilometer) syncs with your account so your setup works on every device.
- behavior events — festivals viewed and saved, booking clicks, outbound affiliate-link clicks, and your recommendation results
- timestamps and basic device/browser information
This data is stored in our own database (Supabase / Postgres). You stay anonymous unless you choose to give us an email address or phone number.
Account (optional): if you create a FestDNA account — by email sign-in link, or with Google or Apple where offered — we store your email address, your @handle if you claim one, your archetype, and your synced app state (Match answers, saved festivals, trip plans, booking checklist, DJ alert list, and saved origins) so it's the same on every device you sign in on. Sign-in with Google or Apple shares only your email with us — never your password. You can delete your account and all of this at any time, right in the app: Settings → Delete my account.
Push notifications (optional, opt-in only): if you turn on alerts, your browser or device creates a push subscription (a delivery address plus its encryption keys) that we store so we can send you the alerts you chose — like on-sale and lineup drops. If you're signed in or gave us an email, the subscription may be linked to it so your alerts follow you. Turning notifications off in your device or browser (or in Settings) stops them; deleting your account removes the subscriptions.
Email (optional): if you give us your email, we use it to save your festival plan and send the alerts you ask for — ticket on-sale alerts, lineup alerts, and trip-planning reminders — and marketing emails if you consent. We use Klaviyo to manage email. You can unsubscribe from marketing at any time using the link in any email or by contacting us.
Phone / SMS (optional, opt-in only): we only collect a phone number if you explicitly opt in. If you opt in to SMS alerts, you agree to receive recurring automated marketing messages; consent is not a condition of any purchase; message and data rates may apply; message frequency may vary; reply STOP to unsubscribe and HELP for help.
Cookies, the Meta Pixel, and your choices
FestDNA uses the Meta (Facebook) Pixel for advertising measurement, which may set cookies or similar technologies. Our consent banner lets you decline non-essential analytics, and you can also control cookies through your browser settings. We are continuing to expand consent controls for advertising/tracking, particularly for users in the EU/UK — see your rights below.
Anonymous ID and connecting your activity
We may use the random localStorage ID to remember your matches, saved festivals, and behavior events across visits on the same device. If you later give us an email address, we may connect your earlier anonymous activity to that email so we can save your plan, improve your recommendations, send the alerts you requested, avoid duplicate profiles, and personalize future results.
How we use your data
- provide your matches and recommendations
- save your plan and send alerts you request
- improve the product and our recommendations
- basic analytics, site security, and fraud prevention
- marketing, where you have consented
- legal and compliance purposes
Legal bases (EU/UK users)
- Consent — email marketing, SMS marketing, and non-essential cookies / advertising pixels
- Legitimate interests — basic analytics, site security, product and recommendation improvement, and fraud prevention
- Performance of a service you requested — providing your matches, saving your plan, and sending alerts you asked for
- Legal compliance — responding to lawful requests and meeting record-keeping or tax obligations where they apply
Service providers we share data with
We use trusted third parties to run FestDNA. They process data on our behalf:
- Vercel — hosting
- Supabase — database / backend (analytics, feedback, accounts, synced app state, push subscriptions)
- Klaviyo — email (and possibly SMS)
- Google and Apple — optional sign-in providers (they share your email with us when you use them to sign in)
- Meta — advertising and analytics pixel
- Booking.com, Travelpayouts / Aviasales, Amazon, and Google Flights — affiliate and outbound travel/ticket/gear links
International transfers
FestDNA is operated from the United States. If you use it from outside the U.S., your information may be processed in the U.S. and by the providers listed above.
How long we keep data
- Anonymous match and analytics data — kept as long as reasonably needed for analytics, product improvement, fraud prevention, and recommendation improvement, unless deleted or anonymized earlier.
- Account data (email, @handle, synced app state, push subscriptions) — kept until you delete your account (Settings → Delete my account), which permanently erases it from our systems.
- Email/SMS marketing data — kept until you unsubscribe, withdraw consent, or request deletion, subject to legal and compliance needs.
- De-identified or aggregated data — may be kept longer, since it no longer identifies you.
Your rights
Wherever you are, you can ask us to:
- access the personal information we hold about you
- correct or delete it — and if you have an account, you can delete it yourself, instantly, in Settings → Delete my account
- opt out of marketing, unsubscribe from email, or opt out of SMS (reply STOP)
- opt out of non-essential cookies and tracking
EU / UK rights (GDPR)
If you are in the EU or UK, you also have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing, to data portability, to withdraw consent at any time, and to complain to your local data-protection authority.
California rights (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know, delete, and correct your personal information, to opt out of its sale or sharing, to limit the use of sensitive personal information where applicable, and not to be discriminated against for exercising your rights.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information: even though we do not sell your data for money, advertising and retargeting pixels (such as the Meta Pixel) may be treated as “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. To opt out, email privacy@festdna.com or decline non-essential tracking in our consent banner.
How to reach us
To exercise any right above, or for any privacy question, email privacy@festdna.com. We may update this policy; the “Last updated” date reflects the current version.
Mail: Your Mind Your World LLC (a Florida LLC), 7916 Olympus Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89131, USA.
Affiliate Disclosure
FestDNA is free to use, and we keep it that way partly through affiliate links. Some of the links on FestDNA are affiliate links, which means that if you click one and book or buy something, we may earn a commission — at no extra cost to you.
Our affiliate partners may include Booking.com (hotels), Travelpayouts / Aviasales (flights), official ticketing partners, other travel providers, and Amazon (festival gear). Where we participate in the Amazon Associates Program, as an Amazon Associate we may earn from qualifying purchases.
Earning a commission never means a recommendation is guaranteed to be right for you. Our matches are estimates, and prices, dates, availability, and policies change. Always verify the details on the official site before you book or buy.
Questions about our affiliate relationships? Email privacy@festdna.com.
